The Sailing Vessel Starship

Starship is a 1972 Islander 36, which is the same make, model and year that Zac Sunderland used to complete his youngest solo circumnavigator record.

To learn everything you could ever want to know about Islander 36's, take a look at the Islander 36 Association website.

We purchased Starship in 2010, trading up from our Catalina 34. After that we spent 2 years living aboard while preparing for our journey. So far we have been very pleased with the sweat equity we have built into Starship. She has treated us well, and we take good care of her.

Soon we will have a listing of equipment and projects we have completed, but until then please just enjoy the pictures below.

  1. Good idea! Can't believe we forgot about her... We'll definitely add her to the next upgrade!

    1. Twinkle is what we called our dinghy. It came from "twinkle, twinkle, little star[ship]"

Nice article. Our now 4 year old daughter loves sailing! Looking forward to cruising as a family one day.
